Birka Cargo Ab Ltd., a Marienhamn-based shipping company has ordered a NOxBUSTER SCR technology package from Proventia. Proventia is to provide an upgrade of the NOx reduction system to M/S Birka Exporter, a ro-ro ship of Birka Cargo.
M/S Birka Exporter will start operating in Swedish waters in early 2010. By upgrading the emission system with Proventia’s SCR technology, the NOx emissions will be reduced by 90 % and Birka Cargo will be able to get significant deductions on fairway fees.
The order includes also a service agreement for the Proventia NOxBUSTER system.
